The New York Times reported Sunday that the former Queen singer and her husband, former frontman Freddie Mercury, are now in talks to create a band called “Queen’s Electron Configuration,” according to People.
The news comes after the news outlet reported that the duo are working on a new album.
Mercury and Queen’s Electromagnetic Configuration, which is reportedly titled “Queen in the Electron,” will feature a “more experimental” sound, according to The New Yorker.
The band’s first album, “Queen Electronical,” was released in 2008.
It featured Mercury’s former bandmate and current member Prince, along with a handful of other notable musicians.
Queen’s previous albums were released between 1979 and 1988, but their current albums have been under development for years.
A “Queen-Electronical” album would mark the band’s second time in the studio, following the release of “Trouble in Paradise.”
